Collaboration between Courtney Windham and Mario Bocanegra of Auburn University’s School of Industrial + Graphic Design.
Original collages made of photographs by Mario Bocanegra, collected images by Courtney Windham, and ai-generated images that have been cut, pasted, placed, and reassembled as new works of design and art. Designed to promote a call for presentations at the spring 2024 MACAA Satellite Virtual Conference.

process behind the design
In Fall 2023, I collaborated with Assistant Professor Mario Bocanegra to write an abstract for MACAA Panel Session titled Creative Encounters: Exploring the Art of “Thinking Through Making.“ To advertise the session, we set aside time for 2 sessions of experimenting with collage and creating a series of posters and video promotions to share on social media outlets. The result was four posters that demonstrated our process of working together. The audience is professional designers, educators, and students. We featured our posters and videos on Linkedin and Instagram and emailed contacts all over the US to encourage people to submit. We received 12 submissions and accepted 8 to present during the conference in March 2024.
