COLLAGe collab : handmade images + ai-Generated images

Original collages on cotton paper made of ai-generated images that have been cut, pasted, placed, and reassembled as new works of design and art.

The collages I create are experiments in positive/negative space with mixed media. This series was developed out of a new process involving prints from a text-to-image app called Midjourney. My customized text prompts in the app can result in weird and wonderful results which serve as inspiration for the final collage. The process requires a mix of word-smithing and a bit of luck to achieve the best image results to develop into a collage. The generated images are deconstructed—cut, rotated, analyzed, and glued—and ultimately reconstructed into precisely balanced final designs of their own. It is a new and exciting experiment every time I sit down to play with the process.
